MUSTS Colloquium

in collaboration with AMC

Finding funding, meeting MERIAN, viewing posters & having drinks

Abstract

In this MUSTS meeting, co-organized with AMC, we start and end with two mundane aspects of academic life: finding funding and having drinks. In between, we aim to discuss a new graduate school initiative for artistic research—MERIAN—and view, as of 5 PM, the posters second year CAST students have made about their research internships.

News about funding, small and large, will be presented by Merle Achten and Karin Bijsterveld. Nora Vaage and Peter Peters will present the ideas behind and practices related to the MERIAN network for graduate training in artistic research. What is it about, what is typically “Maastricht” in MERIAN’s approach to artistic research, and what does it imply for defending a thesis?
