The workshop will be held at FASoS on the 5th January, 2024.
Tom Quick is currently Marie S. Curie Fellow at MUSTS.
The event seeks to relocate past and presents of biomedical experimentation through a focus on animal (im)mobility. Speakers explore experimental practices around a great variety of species, from the mythical Axolotl and amphibian embryos, to cephalopods, primates, mouses, cod and “weird worms”.
Two fascinating keynotes explore histories of medical experimentation on charismatic animals and emotion in 20th century America, and care in relation to cod as a new experimental animal.
The workshop is open for a limited number of participants.
